R.S. Celebrates Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas with Eloquent Tributes and Patriotic Zeal

With the aim of paying a poignant tribute to the valiant martyrs of Indian Army who made the ultimate sacrifice during 1999, R.S. Model Sen. Sec. School observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with great solemnity and fervor, under the erudite guidance of Dr. Sanjeev Chandel (Principal) and Mr. Rakesh Jain (President). The event was graced by the Chief Guest Major General Harmit Singh (Commandant Selection Centre North Jalandhar Cantt.), Guest of Honour – Brigadier S.K. Saul (Dy.GOC.HQ-91, Sub Area Jalandhar Cantt.) and Colonel Upendra Gupta. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of lamp, followed by recitation of the Gayatri Mantra. Dr. Sanjeev Chandel delivered a warm welcome address, presenting the guests with saplings, symbolising the growth of patriotism and national pride. A short video showcasing Operation Vijay was screened, highlighting the heroic exploits and unwavering resolve of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War. This was followed by a series of captivating cultural performances, including melodious group song, a choreographed depiction of the Kargil Victory, and a patriotic group song by the music team that left everyone spellbound. Major General Harmit Singh in his address inspired the students to draw lessons from the sacrifices of the martyrs and strive towards building a stronger, more resilient nation. A vibrant folk dance Bhangra enthralled everyone. Other distinguished dignitaries in attendance included Mr. Vyas Dev Bembi (Manager), Captain Vijay Sayal (Secretary), Mr. Vinod Kumar Sehgal (Vice – president), Mr. Vaibhav Sehgal (Treasurer), Mr. Sudhir Sayal, Mr. Aditya Sayal, Mr. Ashok Kalra, Mr. Anil Gautam, Mr. Chandra Gambhir, Mr. O.P. Chopra, Dr. Paramjit Kaur (Director, Arya group of schools), Mrs.Anuja Kaushal, Mrs.Shubh lata (Headmistress) and other sterling members of the managing committee. Captain Vijay Sayal also shared his valuable life experience with all. The event culminated with a vote of thanks by Mr. Vyas Bembi (Manager) and the rendition of the National Anthem, filling the hearts of all with pride and patriotism.
